Before that, he also fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is a very famous mixed martial arts organization.

Davi Ramos's Fighting Journey

Starting His MMA Career

Davi Ramos began his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career in July 2010. MMA combines different fighting styles like boxing, wrestling, and martial arts. In his first six years, Davi had a great start, winning six fights and only losing one. This showed he was a strong and talented fighter.

Fighting in the UFC

Davi Ramos joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in March 2017. The UFC is one of the biggest stages for MMA fighters.

  • First UFC Fight: His first fight was against Sérgio Moraes. Davi fought hard but lost this match by a decision from the judges.
  • First UFC Win: In December 2017, Davi faced Chris Gruetzemacher. He won this fight using a move called a "rear-naked choke" in the third round. This is a special grappling move that makes an opponent give up.
  • More Wins: Davi continued his winning streak in the UFC. He defeated Nick Hein in May 2018 and John Gunther in November 2018, both by rear-naked choke.
  • Decision Victory: In May 2019, he won another fight against Austin Hubbard by a unanimous decision, meaning all the judges agreed he won.
  • Tough Challenges: Davi then faced two tough opponents, Islam Makhachev in September 2019 and Arman Tsarukyan in July 2020. He lost both of these fights by unanimous decision.
  • Leaving the UFC: After these fights, Davi Ramos decided to leave the UFC.

Competing in Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA)

After leaving the UFC, Davi Ramos signed with Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA). This is another major MMA organization.

  • ACA Debut: In June 2022, Davi entered the ACA Lightweight Grand Prix. His first fight was against Artem Reznikov, which he lost by decision.
  • Returning to Wins: Davi bounced back in April 2023, winning against Aurel Pîrtea by TKO (Technical Knockout) in the first round. A TKO happens when the referee stops the fight because one fighter can't safely continue.
  • Another Victory: In October 2023, he won another fight against Rasul Magomedov by unanimous decision.
  • Recent Fight: His most recent fight was in May 2024 against Ali Abdulkhalikov. This was part of the ACA Lightweight Grand Prix Quarterfinal, and Davi lost by unanimous decision. In October 2024, he also lost a split decision to Mukhamed Kokov.

Davi Ramos's Grappling Skills

Besides MMA, Davi Ramos is also a very talented professional grappler. Grappling focuses on wrestling, holds, and submissions without punches or kicks.

  • Grappling Matches: Davi has competed in many grappling events. In 2021, he had matches against Pedro Marinho and Dante Leon, but he lost both.
  • Championship Challenge: In October 2021, Davi challenged Craig Jones for a middleweight title at Polaris 17, but he lost that match too.
  • Team Tournament: Davi was part of a team that won the UFC FightPass Invitational tournament in December 2021. He had two draws in his individual matches, but his team still won the overall event.
  • ADCC World Championship: Davi was supposed to compete in the 2022 ADCC World Championship, which is a very important grappling competition, but he couldn't go because of visa problems. He did compete in the 2024 ADCC World Championship, but he was submitted in the first round of his division and lost by decision in the absolute division.
  • BJJ Stars: In August 2024, Davi competed against Micael Galvão at BJJ Stars 13, losing the match on points.
