Mulvane is a city in the state of Kansas, USA. It is located in both Sedgwick and Sumner counties. In 2020, about 6,286 people lived in Mulvane. It is part of the larger Wichita metropolitan area.

History of Mulvane
Mulvane was first planned out in 1879. This happened where five Santa Fe train lines met. The city is named after Joab R. Mulvane. He was a railroad official who helped bring the Santa Fe Railroad to this area.
In 2001, Mulvane officially became a "city of the second class." This is a legal term for a city of a certain size in Kansas. Later, in 2008 and 2009, the city grew by adding land to its west side. The Kansas Star Casino then opened on this new land in 2011.
Geography of Mulvane
Mulvane covers an area of about 4.52 square miles (11.7 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a small part being water.
The main street of Mulvane runs along the border between Sedgwick and Sumner counties. The center of the town is about five miles west of where four counties meet: Sedgwick, Sumner, Butler, and Cowley.
