DeAndre Roselle Yedlin (born July 9, 1993) is an American professional soccer player. He plays for the Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati. DeAndre mostly plays as a right-back. He can also play as a right wing-back or a midfielder on the side.

Early Life and Youth Soccer
DeAndre Yedlin was born and grew up in Seattle, Washington. He started playing soccer when he was four years old. He learned by watching his uncle play.
Youth Clubs and Training
DeAndre went to O'Dea High School in Seattle. From 2006 to 2009, he was part of Washington Youth Soccer's State Olympic Development Program. He also played for youth soccer clubs like Emerald City FC and Northwest Nationals. Later, he joined the U.S. Soccer Development Academy club Crossfire Premier. For the 2010–11 season, he moved to the Seattle Sounders FC youth academy.
College Soccer at Akron
On February 8, 2011, Yedlin decided to play college soccer at the University of Akron. In his first year, he started in 20 of 23 games. He scored his first college goal on September 28, 2011. He finished that year with six assists. He was named to the College Soccer News Freshman All-American team. In his second year, he also had six assists.
During his college breaks, Yedlin played for Seattle Sounders FC U-23. This team is part of the Premier Development League. He was named to the 2012 All-PDL First XI for his great play.
Professional Soccer Career
Starting with Seattle Sounders FC

On January 11, 2013, DeAndre Yedlin signed with Seattle Sounders FC. He became the club's first "homegrown player." This means he came up through their youth system.
He played his first game on March 2, 2013. He was named to the MLS Team of the Week. This made him the first rookie to get this honor in his first professional game. On March 12, Yedlin scored his first goal for the club. This was in a big win against Tigres in the CONCACAF Champions League.
In July 2013, Yedlin was chosen for the 2013 MLS All-Star Game. He was the first rookie since 2005 to be an MLS All-Star. He was ranked as the 3rd best MLS player under 24 in 2013. Yedlin scored his first league goal on July 20, 2013. He was again named to the 2014 MLS All-Star Game in 2014. He started in a 2–1 win against FC Bayern Munich.
Moving to Tottenham Hotspur
After doing well for his club and at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Yedlin moved to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. This was announced on August 13, 2014. He signed a four-year contract. He stayed with Seattle until January 2015. He trained with Tottenham for the first time on January 7, 2015. He played his first Premier League game on April 11, 2015.
Loan to Sunderland
On September 1, 2015, Yedlin went on loan to Sunderland for a year. He played his first game for Sunderland on September 22. He played the whole game and helped set up a goal. On October 3, 2015, Yedlin started his first Premier League game for Sunderland.

Playing for Newcastle United
On August 24, 2016, Yedlin joined Newcastle United. He signed a five-year contract. He played his first game for Newcastle on August 27. Two weeks later, he scored his first goal for the club. This was his first goal in three years. He scored his first Premier League goal for Newcastle on September 1, 2018.
Time at Galatasaray
On February 1, 2021, Yedlin moved to the Turkish team Galatasaray. He signed a 2.5-year contract. On March 19, Yedlin scored his first goal for Galatasaray. This was his first goal since 2019. His contract with Galatasaray ended by agreement on January 26, 2022.
Joining Inter Miami
Yedlin joined Inter Miami CF on February 2, 2022. He signed a four-year contract. The team's manager, Phil Neville, said Yedlin's experience and leadership would be very important. Yedlin also said he felt he was a much better defender now than when he left MLS.
DeAndre Yedlin was the vice captain when Inter Miami won its first trophy, the 2023 Leagues Cup. A video of Lionel Messi offering the captain's armband to Yedlin before they lifted the trophy became very popular.
Moving to FC Cincinnati
On March 4, 2024, Yedlin announced he was moving to FC Cincinnati. He said he and his wife liked Cincinnati as a place to raise a family. He also thought TQL Stadium, FC Cincinnati's home, was the best soccer stadium in the United States. He chose to wear number 91 to honor his uncle.
International Career
Playing for the U.S. Youth Team
Yedlin was chosen for the United States under-20 squad on June 7, 2013. This was for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey. He played his first game for the U-20 team a week later.
Joining the Senior National Team
Yedlin was called up to the senior men's national team on January 3, 2014. He played his first game for the senior team on February 1, 2014.
FIFA World Cup Appearances
Yedlin was a surprise choice for the U.S. team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He played his first World Cup game against Portugal. He helped set up a goal for his teammate Clint Dempsey. He also played in the next game against Germany. In the game against Belgium, Yedlin came on early as a substitute. His performances surprised many, and he was called a "breakout star."
Yedlin continued to play for the U.S. after 2014. He played in the 2016 Copa América Centenario. He received a red card in a game against Paraguay. He also played in the team's efforts to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Yedlin became a leader for the team. He was one of the few experienced players. He wanted to move past the team's failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
Yedlin was the captain for the national team in a game against Chile in March 2019. He missed the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup due to an injury. However, he played in the group stage and finals of the 2019-20 CONCACAF Nations League.
On November 9, 2022, Yedlin was chosen for the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad. He was the only U.S. player to play in both the 2014 and 2022 World Cups. His coach, Gregg Berhalter, called him a "glue guy" who helps the team. Yedlin appeared in two games in Qatar. He played in the group stage match against Wales. He also played in the Round of 16 match against the Netherlands.
Personal Life
DeAndre Yedlin has a diverse background. He is one-quarter Black, one-quarter Native American, and half Latvian Ashkenazi Jewish. He and his mother are Jewish.
Yedlin is very close with his mother, Rebecca Yedlin. She had him when she was young. He was raised by his maternal grandfather, Ira Nathan Yedlin, and his step-grandmother, Vicki Walton. He has a sister named Jenea.
During the racial unrest in the United States, Yedlin supported the Black Lives Matter movement. He spoke about police brutality against African Americans. He said that as a young Black man, he grew up knowing he had a higher chance of being stopped by police. He questioned if there was truly "liberty and justice" for all Americans.
In May 2021, Yedlin became part of the ownership group for the USL Championship club San Diego Loyal SC.
