The very first signs of people living in this area come from a really old grave mound. This mound, found in the Brandwald forest, dates back to the Hallstatt culture. This was a time long ago, around 800-450 BC, when people in Europe were learning to use iron.

A beautiful old country house, known as the Schloss, was taken down in 1969. Diemerswil has mostly stayed a quiet, farming area. Even in 2000, almost half of the people working there were in agriculture. Many residents also travel to other towns, especially Bern, for their jobs.
