East Russell is a small, beautiful coastal area in Queensland, Australia. It is known as a "locality," which is like a small town or district. East Russell is part of the Cairns Region, a popular area in northern Queensland.

East Russell is located right on the coast, facing the amazing Coral Sea. It sits east of a town called Babinda. It's also south of the bigger city of Cairns and a bit north of Innisfail.

Rivers and Waterways

The Russell River forms the western edge of East Russell. This river is an important natural feature of the area. Further north, the Russell River meets another river, the Mulgrave River. They join together at a place called Mutchero Inlet. This inlet marks the very northern part of East Russell.

National Parks and Islands

A big part of the coastal area in East Russell is protected. It's called the Russell River National Park. This park is full of natural beauty, including several tall peaks. Some of these peaks reach over 600 meters high!

East Russell is also close to some amazing islands. These islands are part of the Frankland Group National Park. This group includes High Island, Normanby Island, Round Island, and Russell Island. These islands are fantastic places to explore and see wildlife.
