Equatorial Guinea is a country in Africa. It first joined the Olympic Games in 1984. Since then, athletes from Equatorial Guinea have competed in every Summer Olympic Games. However, the country has never sent athletes to the Winter Olympic Games.

As of 2024, no athlete from Equatorial Guinea has won an Olympic medal. One of the most well-known Olympic athletes from the country is Eric Moussambani. He became famous for his very slow swim in the 100-meter freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Even though he was slow, his effort and spirit made him a memorable figure.

The group in charge of sports for Equatorial Guinea, called the National Olympic Committee, was created in 1980. The International Olympic Committee officially recognized it in 1984. This recognition allowed Equatorial Guinea to send its athletes to the Olympics.
