Eva Simons' Life Story
Growing Up in Amsterdam
Eva Simons grew up in Amsterdam in a family full of musicians. Her mother, Ingrid Simons, was a backing singer who worked with famous DJs and was part of a pop group called Say When. Eva's grandfather was a well-known Dutch accordionist named Johnny Meijer. Her father was a pianist, and he inspired Eva to learn the piano.
When she was a teenager, Eva was part of a group called Jody's Kids. They sang for different music productions. Eva also studied music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2001, she sang on a song called "I Believe in Love" by Cooper. After finishing her studies in 2004, she joined a TV show called Popstars The Rivals. She was chosen to be one of five members in a band called Raffish.
Raffish had a hit song called "Plaything" and released an album in 2005. However, their next songs were not as successful. Later that year, Eva decided to leave the group to start her own music journey.
Starting a Solo Career
In 2009, a demo version of Eva's song "Silly Boy" was shared online. It quickly gained millions of views on YouTube. Many people thought it was a song by Lady Gaga or Rihanna at first. When Eva confirmed it was her song, she signed a music deal to release it officially.
In 2010, Eva worked with Mike Hamilton to write a song called "Take Over Control". They shared the idea with DJ Afrojack, who produced the song. It became a huge hit around the world, topping dance charts and selling millions of copies. This song helped both Eva and Afrojack become very well-known globally.
In 2011, Eva toured all over the world. She also signed a big record deal in the US. .....

This song became number one in many countries, including the UK. It was also a top 10 hit in many other places. In October 2012, Eva received an award for her songwriting on "Take Over Control".
In April 2013, Eva Simons opened for Beyoncé during her "The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour" in the Netherlands. Around that time, Pepsi launched an advertisement campaign in the Netherlands. It gave customers a chance to meet Eva when she performed with Beyoncé. A song by Eva called 'Chemistry' was used in the ad and released in the Netherlands in March 2013.
In January 2014, Eva released a special remix of the song "Animals" by Martin Garrix. In June 2014, she married her long-time partner, Sidney Samson, in Amsterdam. That summer, Eva also tried acting for the first time in a Dutch movie for teenagers called Heksen Bestaan Niet.
