Evan Thomas Peters (born January 20, 1987) is an American actor. He is well-known for playing many different characters in the TV show American Horror Story. He also gained fame for his roles in the miniseries Mare of Easttown and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
Evan Peters started his acting journey in 2004. His first role was in the drama film Clipping Adam. He then appeared in the ABC science fiction series Invasion from 2005 to 2006.
His performance as a detective in the HBO crime miniseries Mare of Easttown (2021) earned him a Primetime Emmy Award. Later, he won a Golden Globe Award for playing the main character in the Netflix miniseries Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022). He was also nominated for a BIFA for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film American Animals (2018).

Early life and acting start
Evan Thomas Peters was born in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents are Julie and Phillip Peters. He grew up in a town called Ballwin. His father works as a vice president for a foundation.
Evan was raised Catholic and went to a Catholic school. He has an older brother, Andrew, and an older half-sister, Michelle. In 2001, Evan and his family moved to Grand Blanc, Michigan. There, he started modeling and took acting classes.
He went to Grand Blanc Community High School for a while. At age 15, he moved to Los Angeles with his mother to focus on acting. He attended Burbank High School for a year. After that, he started taking homeschooling classes.
Career highlights
Early roles (2004–2010)
Evan Peters got his first film role as Adam Sheppard in Clipping Adam. This was only his second audition! For this role, he won an award for Best Breakthrough Performance at the Phoenix Film Festival. He also appeared in many TV commercials. These included ads for Sony PlayStation, Progressive Insurance, and Papa John's Pizza.
In 2004, he was in the film Sleepover. He also played Cooper Day in the ABC series The Days. From 2004 to 2005, he had a recurring role in the Disney Channel series Phil of the Future. He played Jesse Varon in the ABC sci-fi series Invasion from 2005 to 2006.
Peters also had supporting roles in films like An American Crime (2007) and Never Back Down (2008). He even acted in theater plays, including Oliver Twist. In 2008, he had a recurring role on The CW show One Tree Hill. He also made guest appearances in popular TV shows. These included The Mentalist, House, and The Office.
Breakthrough and popular roles (2011–present)

Evan Peters' big breakthrough came when he played Tate Langdon in the first season of American Horror Story. This show is an anthology series, meaning each season tells a different story. In the second season, Asylum, he played Kit Walker. This role earned him a nomination for an award.
He continued to play different characters in American Horror Story:
- In Coven, he was Kyle Spencer.
- In Freak Show, he played Jimmy Darling, a circus performer.
- In Hotel, he played James Patrick March.
- In American Horror Story: Roanoke, he played Edward Philipe Mott and Rory Monahan.

In 2017, Peters played the main role in The Pirates of Somalia. The next year, he starred in the heist film American Animals. He also worked with producer Ryan Murphy again in the TV show Pose.
In 2021, Peters made a surprise appearance in the Disney+ series WandaVision. He played a character named Ralph Bohner, who looked like Quicksilver. That same year, he starred in Mare of Easttown, an HBO miniseries. For his role as Detective Colin Zabel, he won a Primetime Emmy Award.
In 2022, he played the main character in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. This role earned him a Golden Globe Award. In June 2023, it was announced that Peters would join the cast of Tron: Ares alongside Jared Leto.
