Luiz Felipe de Oliveira Nasr (born August 21, 1992) is a Brazilian racing driver. He currently races in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Porsche. Felipe also competed in Formula One from 2015 to 2016.
In endurance racing, Felipe has won three IMSA SportsCar Championship titles. He won the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2019 and 2025. He also won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2024 and 2025 with Porsche. Before Formula One, he was a test driver for Williams in 2014. He then joined Sauber as a full-time Formula One driver in 2015.

Felipe Nasr's Early Racing Career
Starting with Karting
Felipe Nasr was born in Brasília, Brazil. He started karting when he was seven years old. Between 2000 and 2007, he won many championships in Brazil.
Racing in Formula BMW
Felipe began his open-wheel racing career in 2008. He raced in the last round of the 2008 Formula BMW Americas season. He even got on the podium in one race.
In 2009, Felipe joined the European Formula BMW championship. He finished in the top two in 14 out of 16 races. He won 6 races and earned 5 pole positions. He won the championship by a large number of points.

Moving to Formula Three
In 2010, Felipe moved to the British Formula 3 Championship. He joined Räikkönen Robertson Racing. He finished 5th in the championship that year.
In 2011, Felipe raced with Carlin Motorsport. He won the British Formula 3 Championship. He was 123 points ahead of his teammate, Kevin Magnussen. He also finished third in the 2012 Rolex 24 at Daytona race.
Competing in GP2 Series

Felipe joined DAMS for the 2012 GP2 Series season. He had four podium finishes, including a second place at Spa. He finished 10th overall in the standings.
In 2013, Felipe moved to Carlin. He finished 4th overall in the GP2 standings. He stayed with Carlin for the 2014 GP2 Series season. He won his first GP2 race in Barcelona. He also won races at the Red Bull Ring, Silverstone, and Spa-Francorchamps. Felipe finished third overall in the 2014 championship.
Felipe Nasr's Professional Racing Career
Racing in Formula One
In 2014, Felipe joined Williams as a reserve driver. This meant he would practice with the team. He participated in five practice sessions during the season.
Racing for Sauber (2015–2016)
On November 5, 2014, it was announced that Felipe would race for Sauber in 2015. In his first race in Australia, he finished fifth. This was the best start for a Brazilian driver in a Grand Prix.
He finished his first season with 27 points. He placed 13th in the drivers' championship. Sauber kept Felipe for the 2016 season.
Felipe's only points in 2016 came at the 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix. He finished ninth in that race. This result helped Sauber move ahead of another team, Manor, in the championship. This was very important for Sauber. However, Felipe did not have a seat for the 2017 season.
Racing in Formula E
In January 2019, Felipe joined GEOX Dragon for a test in Formula E. In February, he replaced another driver for some races. He made his debut at the 2019 Mexico City ePrix. He raced in three Formula E events but did not score any points.
Racing in Sports Cars
Driving for Cadillac (2018–2021)
After a year without racing, Felipe joined the 2018 IMSA SportsCar Championship. He partnered with Eric Curran at Whelen Engineering Racing. They started strong, finishing second at the 2018 24 Hours of Daytona. They also took third place at the 2018 12 Hours of Sebring.
Felipe won his first IMSA race at Belle Isle. This put him and Eric at the top of the standings. They continued to do well and won the overall championship title in their first year.
Felipe stayed with the team in 2019. He partnered with Pipo Derani. They finished second at Daytona and won at Sebring. They won the Endurance Cup title that year.
In 2020, Felipe and Pipo won a race at Sebring. They also had four more podium finishes. In 2021, they won the Daytona qualifying race. They then won four more races during the season. Felipe and Pipo won their second IMSA title together in 2021.
Driving for Porsche Penske (2022–Present)
In December 2021, Felipe became a factory driver for Porsche Penske Motorsport. This meant he would race their new LMDh car. In 2022, he raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and finished fifth in his class. He also won a class race at the 2022 24 Hours of Daytona with Pfaff Motorsports.
For the 2023 season, Felipe partnered with Matt Campbell. They raced the new Porsche 963 car. They earned three podium finishes, including a win at Road America.
In the 2024 IMSA season, Felipe partnered with Dane Cameron. They won the Daytona 24 Hours race. Felipe defended his position strongly in the final hour. They also won at Watkins Glen. Felipe and Dane won both the overall IMSA title and the Michelin Endurance Cup in 2024.
In 2025, Felipe continued to race for Porsche Penske Motorsport. He won the Daytona 24 Hours, the Sebring 12 Hours, and the Long Beach Grand Prix.

Felipe Nasr's family comes from Lebanon. His grandfather moved to Brazil in the 1960s. Felipe enjoys sports, fishing, and mechanics. His favorite movies are Star Wars and James Bond films. He says his favorite driver is Ayrton Senna. His favorite race track is Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
Felipe's uncle, Amir Nasr, owns a successful racing team. This team has helped many Brazilian drivers. Felipe can speak Portuguese, English, and Italian.
