Gauri Khan (born October 8, 1970) is a famous Indian film producer and interior designer. She is well-known for her work in Hindi films and the design world.
Gauri Khan has produced many popular movies like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, RaOne, and Chennai Express. She produced these films through her company, Red Chillies Entertainment. She started this company in 2002 with her husband, the famous actor Shah Rukh Khan.
Besides films, Gauri Khan is also a talented interior designer. She has designed beautiful spaces for many important people, including celebrities. In 2018, Fortune magazine recognized her as one of the "50 Most Powerful Women."

Gauri's Early Life and Education
Gauri Chhibber was born in Delhi, India. Her parents were Savita and Colonel Ramesh Chandra Chhibber. She grew up in a place called Panchsheel Park in Delhi.
She went to Loreto Convent School and then Modern School Vasant Vihar. Later, she studied history at Lady Shri Ram College. Gauri also took a six-month course in fashion design. She learned about tailoring because her father had a clothing business.
Gauri's Career in Film and Design
Starting Red Chillies Entertainment
In 2002, Gauri Khan and her husband, Shah Rukh Khan, started a film company. It is called Red Chillies Entertainment. This company makes and distributes movies. Before this, they had another company called Dreamz Unlimited, which started in 1999.
Gauri Khan is a co-chairperson and the main producer for all the films made by Red Chillies Entertainment. The first movie she produced was Main Hoon Na, directed by Farah Khan. This film did very well at the box office. It was the second highest-grossing film of that year. Gauri also made a small appearance in the film Om Shanti Om (2007), which she also produced.
Gauri's Fashion and Design Work
Gauri Khan also designed a fashion collection in 2016. It was called 'Cocktails and Dreams' for the brand Satya Paul.
Her interest in interior design began as a hobby. She enjoyed renovating her own home, a large bungalow in Bandra called Mannat. This bungalow is now a popular tourist spot.
In 2010, Gauri started working as a professional interior designer. She teamed up with her friend, Sussanne Khan, who is also an interior designer. They worked on their first big project together in Vadodara. In 2011, they also launched The Charcoal Project foundation in Mumbai.

In 2014, Gauri opened her first design store. It was called The Design Cell and was located in Worli, Mumbai. The store showed furniture designed by Gauri and other Indian designers. In 2016, she was invited to show her designs at a famous show in Paris called Maison et Objet.
In August 2017, Gauri launched her own design studio. It is called 'Gauri Khan Designs' and is located in Juhu, Mumbai. She has worked with famous international artists like Roberto Cavalli and Ralph Lauren for home items. In an interview, she said her travels around the world inspire her designs. She loves to look at the architecture of different places. For her great work in interior design, Gauri won the Excellence in Design Award in 2018.
In 2017, Gauri Khan also helped create a collection of special lights for TISVA. This brand makes fancy home lighting.
Gauri in the Media Spotlight
Gauri Khan usually likes to stay out of the public eye. However, she is often seen as one of the most stylish women in Bollywood. She appeared on the cover of Vogue India magazine in January 2008. The magazine called her the "First Lady of Bollywood." She was on the cover again in April 2012 with Sussanne Khan.
In 2008, she appeared in a TV commercial for a home furnishings brand called D'decor. She was in the commercial with her husband, Shah Rukh Khan.
Gauri's Personal Life
Gauri first met Shah Rukh Khan in 1984 in Delhi. This was before he became a huge star in Bollywood. They got married on October 25, 1991, in a traditional Hindu wedding.
They have three children. Their son Aryan was born in 1997, and their daughter Suhana was born in 2000. In 2013, they welcomed their third child, a son named AbRam, who was born through a surrogate mother. Shah Rukh Khan has shared that while he follows Islam, he deeply respects his wife's religion. Their children learn about both religions. At home, the Qur'an is placed next to Hindu deities.
