What is the Gunstock Mountain Resort?
The Gunstock Mountain Resort is a well-known ski area. It's located right on the mountain. People love to visit this resort for winter sports. Ski magazines have even written about its amazing views. From the resort, you can see Lake Winnipesaukee. You can also see other mountains in the distance.

Where Does the Water Go?
Gunstock Mountain is part of a special area called a watershed. A watershed is like a big bowl. All the rain and melted snow that falls on the mountain eventually flows into rivers and lakes. For Gunstock Mountain, this water ends up in the Merrimack River. The Merrimack River then flows into the Gulf of Maine in Massachusetts.
The eastern side of the mountain is where the ski resort is. Water from this side flows into Poorfarm Brook. This brook then empties into Lake Winnipesaukee. From there, the water goes into the Winnipesaukee River and finally the Merrimack River. The western side of the mountain has its own path for water. Water from this side flows into the Gunstock River. This river also leads to Lake Winnipesaukee.
