Hind Dehiba Chahyd (born on March 17, 1979, in Bejaâd, Morocco) is a talented runner. She is from both Morocco and France. Hind is best known for her skills in the 1500 metres race.

Hind's Early Running Days
Hind started running at a very young age. When she was just 14, she ran the 1500 meters in 4 minutes and 21 seconds. She even ran this race barefoot! She also ran the 3000 meters in 9 minutes and 26 seconds.
Her talent was quickly noticed. In 1994, she competed in her first international race. This was the African Junior Championships in Algeria. Even though she was only 14, she finished sixth in the 3,000 meters junior race. In 1996, she became a vice-world champion in cross country for high school students in Turkey. Her team also won the world championship that year.
Hind took a break from running from 1998 to 2003 to focus on her education. When she returned to the sport in 2003, she quickly qualified for the French Elite Championship in the 800 meters.
In 2003, she married Fodil Dehiba and became a French citizen. This allowed her to compete for France in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. She reached the semifinals in the 1500 meters.
In March 2005, Hind won a bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid. This was for the 1500 meters race. Later that year, she set a new French record for the 1500 meters in Rieti, finishing in 4 minutes and 0.49 seconds.
In 2006, she placed fourth in the World Indoor Championships in Moscow. She also broke her own French record for the 1500 meters indoors. In 2010, she won a silver medal at the European Championships in Barcelona. In 2012, she finished fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul. Later, she was awarded the bronze medal for this race after two other athletes were disqualified.
Challenges and Comebacks
In January 2007, Hind faced a challenge in her career. She was suspended from competing for two years due to a rule violation.
After her suspension, Hind made a strong comeback. On July 16, 2010, she finished second in the 1500 meters at the Diamond League event in Paris. She broke the French national record for the 1500 meters again, with a time of 3 minutes and 59.76 seconds. This made her the first and only French female athlete to run the 1500 meters in under 4 minutes.
At the European Athletics Championships in 2010, Hind won the silver medal in the 1500 meters. A month later, she won the 1500 meters at the Continental Cup in Croatia. She finished her season by winning a race where she set the world's best time for the mile run that year.
Hind's Achievements and Life Today
Throughout her career, Hind won three medals in the Diamond League. She was ranked among the top four 1500-meter runners in the world in both 2005 and 2010. She won the French Indoor Championships three times and the French Elite Outdoor Championships five times in the 1500 meters. She also won the French 800-meter championship in 2009.
Hind has run the 1500 meters in under 4 minutes and 10 seconds 35 times. She has also run it in under 4 minutes and 5 seconds 15 times. In the 800 meters, she ran under 2 minutes four times.
After her running career, Hind continued to be involved in sports. In 2012, she was elected to the Steering Committee of the Seine-et-Marne Athletics Board. She also became a professional athlete in the National Athletics League for two years.
Hind earned a university diploma in physical preparation from the University of Lyon1. This degree helps her coach and train athletes.
Hind is also a mother. She gave birth to her daughter, Inès, in July 2013. In November 2016, she welcomed triplets named Adam, Jana, and Salma. Hind and her family live in Fontainebleau, France.
