Hind Dehiba Chahyd was born on March 17, 1979, in Bejaâd, Morocco. She is a talented runner from both Morocco and France. Hind is best known for her skills in the 1500 metres race.

Early Running Days
Hind started running at a very young age. When she was just 14, she ran the 1500 meters in 4 minutes and 21 seconds! She even ran the 3000 meters in 9 minutes and 26 seconds, all while running barefoot.
Because of her amazing talent, she was chosen to compete internationally in 1994. This was at the African Junior Championships in Algeria. Even though she was only 14, she finished sixth in the 3,000 meters junior race. In 1996, she became the vice-world champion in high school cross country in Turkey. Her team also won the world championship!
Hind took a break from running from 1998 to 2003 to focus on her education. When she started running again in 2003, she quickly qualified for the French Elite Championship in the 800 meters.
In 2002, Hind met Fodil Dehiba in France, and they got married in 2003. She then became a French citizen. This allowed her to run for France in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. She made it to the semifinals in the 1500 meters.
Winning Medals and Breaking Records
In March 2005, Hind won a bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid for the 1500 meters. This was her first European medal. Later that year, she set a new French record for the 1500 meters, finishing in 4 minutes and 0.49 seconds.
In 2006, she placed fourth in the World Indoor Championships in Moscow. She also broke the French record again with a time of 4 minutes and 5.63 seconds.
Hind continued to achieve great things. In 2010, she won a silver medal at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona in the 1500 meters. She also broke the French record for the 1500 meters for the second time, running it in an amazing 3 minutes and 59.76 seconds. This made her the first and only French athlete to run the 1500 meters in under 4 minutes!
Later in 2010, she won the 1500 meters at the Continental Cup in Croatia. She beat the Olympic champion Nancy Langat in a very close finish. She also set the world's best performance of the year in the mile run, finishing in 4 minutes and 29.06 seconds.
In 2012, Hind placed fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul. Later, she was awarded the bronze medal after two other athletes were disqualified.

Throughout her career, Hind won many awards and set several records:
- She earned three podium finishes (top 3) in the Diamond League series.
- She was ranked 4th in the world for the 1500 meters in both 2005 and 2010.
- She won the French Indoor Championships for the 1500 meters three times (2004, 2005, 2011).
- She won the French Elite Outdoor Championships for the 1500 meters five times (2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012).
- She also won the French Championships for the 800 meters in 2009.
Hind ran the 1500 meters in less than 4 minutes and 10 seconds 35 times! She also ran it in less than 4 minutes and 5 seconds 15 times. In the 800 meters, she ran under 2 minutes four times. She also ran the mile in less than 4 minutes and 30 seconds twice, and the 3000 meters in less than 9 minutes twice.
Life After Running
After her professional running career, Hind continued to be involved in sports. In 2012, she was elected to the Steering Committee of Seine-et-Marne Athletics. She also worked on the High Level Sport Commission and chaired the Athletes Commission.
Hind also earned a university degree in European Physical Preparation. This degree helps coaches train athletes.
Hind is also a mother. She gave birth to her daughter, Inès, in 2013. In 2016, she welcomed triplets named Adam, Jana, and Salma! They live in Fontainebleau, France.
