The Band's Story
How Hot Club de Paris Formed
The band Hot Club de Paris started in early 2004. Two of the band members, Matthew and Paul, first met in 2003. They were working together at Chester racecourse. Other members of the band used to play in different groups in the Liverpool music scene. These included punk bands like Down and Outs and pop bands like Victor FME.
Music Style and Record Deal
Matthew and Paul really liked American punk rock bands. They also became interested in a style of music called math rock. This kind of music is experimental and uses unusual rhythms. These different styles greatly influenced the band's sound. In 2005, Hot Club de Paris signed a deal with Moshi Moshi Records. After that, they started touring all over the world. They traveled to many countries to share their music.
Touring and Radio Play
Hot Club de Paris has been on many music TV shows in the UK. Their songs have also been played a lot on the radio. Some of the radio stations that played their music include BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and XFM. A DJ from XFM named John Kennedy was a big fan of the band. He even said that their first album was one of the best of 2006.
The band has also toured with other popular groups. They have played shows with Jamie T, Maxïmo Park, and even the famous band The Who.

Hot Club de Paris played at the 2007 SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas. They have toured in many countries around the world. These include the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, France, Sweden, Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Holland, and India.
Recording Albums and EPs
The band recorded their second album, Live at Dead Lake, in Chicago. They worked with a producer named Brian Deck. Brian Deck has also produced music for other bands like Iron and Wine and Modest Mouse. This album was released in 2008.
In 2010, Hot Club de Paris released two smaller music collections called EPs. Songs from these EPs were later put together on an album called Free The Pterodactyl Three. This album came out in 2011.
