Interstate 74 (often called I-74) is a major highway in the United States. It's part of the Interstate Highway System, a big network of roads that connect different states. The main part of I-74 stretches from Davenport, Iowa in the west all the way to Cincinnati, Ohio in the east.
This important road is planned to be even longer in the future. It will eventually reach Georgetown, South Carolina. Right now, there are also three separate parts of I-74 in North Carolina. These parts are not connected to each other or to the main section yet. However, the plan is for all these pieces to become one continuous road someday. As of 2018, the completed parts of Interstate 74 were about 428.81 miles (690.12 kilometers) long.
