At 15, while in high school, Ivi tried out for The X Factor. She made it to the live shows, which meant she had to travel often from Cyprus to Greece. After the show, she signed a contract with Sony Music Greece. Even with her music career starting, she decided to study sociology at Panteion University in Athens.
