Jennifer Lynn Siebel Newsom (born June 19, 1974) is an American filmmaker and actress. She is known as the First Partner of California. This means she is the wife of the current Governor, Gavin Newsom. She has created several important documentary films. These films explore how people are shown in the media and in society.
Before becoming First Partner, she was the state's Second Lady from 2011 to 2019. She was also the First Lady of San Francisco from 2008 to 2011. The title "First Lady" was changed to "First Partner" during her time in the role. This change was made to include everyone, no matter their gender.

Early Life and Education
Jennifer Lynn Siebel was born in San Francisco, California. Her father, Kenneth F. Siebel Jr., managed investments. Her mother, Judy Siebel, helped start the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Jennifer grew up in a town called Ross, California. She is the second oldest of five sisters.
She went to Ross Grammar School and The Branson School. In high school, she was a talented athlete. She played basketball, soccer, and tennis for her school teams. After high school, she went to Stanford University. She graduated with honors in 1996, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Stanford in 2001.
While at Stanford, she also played on the women's soccer team. During her MBA studies, she took classes at the American Conservatory Theater. After finishing her education, Jennifer traveled to different parts of the world. She worked on projects with Conservation International. This group works to protect the environment around the globe.

In 2002, Jennifer Siebel Newsom moved to Hollywood. There, she focused on her acting career. She appeared in many television shows, movies, and plays. Some of the TV shows she was in include Life, Mad Men, Strong Medicine, and Numb3rs.
Filmmaking and Social Impact
Jennifer Siebel Newsom is also a successful filmmaker. She wrote, directed, and produced the film Miss Representation (2011). This movie was shown for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival. It looks at how the media often doesn't show women in powerful roles. The film includes stories from teenage girls. It also features interviews with famous people like Condoleezza Rice and Oprah Winfrey.
Her second film, The Mask You Live In (2015), also premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. This movie explores what American society teaches boys and men about being "masculine." She also directed The Great American Lie and Fair Play.

Personal Life
In the early 2000s, Jennifer Siebel Newsom briefly dated actor George Clooney.
She met Gavin Newsom in October 2006. They were set up on a blind date by a friend. They announced their engagement in January 2008. Jennifer and Gavin got married in July of the same year. They have four children together.
In 2011, Jennifer and her family moved from San Francisco to Kentfield. This is the town where she grew up. In 2019, the family moved to Fair Oaks, California.
