Jurassic Park: The Ride is an exciting water ride that brings the world of Jurassic Park to life! It's based on the famous movie by Steven Spielberg and the book by Michael Crichton. You can experience this adventure at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure in Florida and Universal Studios Japan in Osaka.

A similar ride used to be at Universal Studios Hollywood in California. The ride was created while the movie was still being made. It first opened at Universal Studios Hollywood on June 21, 1996. Other versions, called Jurassic Park River Adventure, were later built in Florida and Japan. There's also a different kind of water ride, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, at Universal Studios Singapore.

Jurassic Park: The Ride

The "Jurassic Park: The Ride" opened with a big celebration in 1996. Some of the movie's stars, like Jeff Goldblum, Ariana Richards, and Joseph Mazzello, were there! Even director Steven Spielberg attended. He enjoyed the ride but chose to get off before the huge 85-foot (26 m) drop.

In 2018, the Universal Studios Hollywood version of the ride closed. It was updated to become a new attraction based on the Jurassic World movies. This new ride features updated animatronics and special effects.

During Universal Studios Hollywood's "Halloween Horror Nights" event, the ride got a spooky makeover. It was temporarily called "Jurassic Park in the Dark." Many of the lights inside the building near the end of the ride were turned off. Also, the ride's usual music was replaced with the song "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses.
