Where are the Kalmia Hills?

The Kalmia Hills are found just north of the city of Moreno Valley. They form the northern edge of the land area known as the Moreno Valley. The highest point in these hills reaches about 2,405 feet (733 m) into the sky.

Nearby, you'll find other interesting places! The Box Springs Mountains run alongside the Kalmia Hills to the southwest. To the northwest, you can see the La Loma Hills and the community of Grand Terrace.

What are the Kalmia Hills made of?

Geologists, who study the Earth, know that the Kalmia Hills sit on the edge of something called the Perris Block. This is a large piece of the Earth's crust. They are also located near the San Jacinto Fault Zone, which is a place where the Earth's plates meet and can cause earthquakes.
