Karon Joseph Riley (born August 23, 1978) is an American who used to play professional football. He played as a defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL), the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Arena Football League (AFL). After his football career, Karon became a television actor and producer.

High School Sports Star

Karon Riley went to Martin Luther King High School in Detroit, Michigan. He was a star athlete there, playing football, basketball, and competing in track and field. In his senior year of football, he was chosen as an All-City, All-Metro, and All-State player. This means he was one of the best players in his city, region, and the entire state.

Professional Football Career

Karon Joseph Riley began his professional football journey in the National Football League. The Chicago Bears picked him in the 4th round of the 2001 NFL draft. This was the 103rd player chosen overall that year. Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the University of Southern Methodist and the University of Minnesota.

He played for the Bears in 2001. Later, he played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2003 to 2004.

In 2005, Karon played two games in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Toronto Argonauts.

On January 30, 2006, he signed with the Washington Redskins as a free agent. However, he was released by the team on August 28, 2006.

Karon Joseph Riley also played two seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL). He played for the Las Vegas/Cleveland Gladiators in 2007 and 2008. In the AFL, he played as both an offensive lineman and a defensive lineman. On August 8, 2008, Karon was removed from the Gladiators' team roster.

Acting and Producing Career

Since 2010, Karon Riley has appeared in several movies and television shows. Some of his early roles include Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns, 35 and Ticking, and Little.

In 2019, Karon had a recurring role on the Bounce TV drama series Saints & Sinners. He took over the role of Malik Thompson, a character previously played by another actor. Since 2022, Riley has been a main character named Malcolm in the popular series "The Black Hamptons."

Besides acting, Karon Riley is also a film producer. He has helped create at least two films.

Personal Life

Karon is married to actress Terri J. Vaughn. On April 24, 2008, they welcomed their first child together, a son named Kal'El Joseph Riley.
