Kate Garry Hudson (born April 19, 1979) is an American actress and singer. She has won several important awards, including a Golden Globe Award. She was also nominated for an Academy Award.
Kate Hudson is the daughter of singer Bill Hudson and actress Goldie Hawn. She started her acting career in 1998. She became very famous for her role as Penny Lane in the movie Almost Famous (2000). For this role, she won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Oscar.
During the 2000s, Kate Hudson starred in many romantic comedies. Some of her most popular films include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), You, Me and Dupree (2006), and Bride Wars (2009). She also appeared in the TV show Glee (2012–2013). More recently, she starred in Glass Onion (2022).
Besides acting, Kate Hudson helped start the fitness brand Fabletics. She has also written two non-fiction books. In 2024, she released her first music album, called Glorious.

Kate Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 19, 1979. Her mother is the famous actress Goldie Hawn. Her father is Bill Hudson, an actor and musician.
Kate's parents divorced when she was very young. She and her older brother, actor Oliver Hudson, were raised by their mother and her longtime partner, actor Kurt Russell. Kate considers Kurt Russell her father. She grew up in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California.
Kate has a mixed family background. Her family comes from places like Italy, Hungary (Jewish heritage), England, and Germany. She was raised Jewish and also practices Buddhism. Kate has several half-siblings from her parents' other relationships.
In 1997, Kate graduated from Crossroads in Santa Monica. She was accepted to New York University but decided to become an actress instead of going to college.
Acting Career
Early Roles and Big Break
Kate Hudson started acting on stage when she was 11 years old. Her first movie was Desert Blue (1998). She then appeared in other films like 200 Cigarettes (1999) and Dr. T & the Women (2000).
Her big breakthrough role was in the movie Almost Famous (2000). She played Penny Lane, a dedicated fan of a rock band. Kate worked hard to get this role and turned down other movies for it. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination. People praised her acting, and the movie became very popular. Kate wanted to succeed on her own, not just because her parents were famous.

Personal Life
Kate Hudson was married to Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the band The Black Crowes. They got married on December 31, 2000. Their son was born in January 2004. They separated in 2006 and their divorce was finalized in 2007.
Later, in 2010, Kate started dating Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of the band Muse. They got engaged in 2011 and had a son together. They broke up in 2014 but remain friendly.
In 2016, Kate began dating Danny Fujikawa, a musician. They met through her best friends, who are his stepsisters. Their daughter was born in October 2018. They announced their engagement in September 2021.
Kate has spoken about the importance of meditation in her life. She says that practicing transcendental meditation regularly has been very helpful and life-changing for her.

Music
Kate Hudson signed a record deal with Virgin Music Group. She released her first song, "Talk About Love," in January 2024. She wrote this song with her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, and Linda Perry.
She released another song called "Live Forever" in March 2024. Rolling Stone magazine called it "a love letter to parents." Her debut album, Glorious, came out on May 17, 2024.
