Keith Douglas Washington, born on November 15, 1960, is an American R&B singer from Detroit. He is famous for his hit song "Kissing You" from 1991. This song was even played on the TV show General Hospital. "Kissing You" was nominated for a Grammy Award and won a Soul Train Music Award in 1992. It also reached number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart.

Keith Washington's Music Career
Before becoming a famous singer, Keith Washington was known as a songwriter. He helped write the 1988 R&B hit song "Hey Lover" for Freddie Jackson.
In 1991, Keith Washington released his first album, Make Time for Love. This album included "Kissing You" and other popular R&B songs. He also sang a duet with Australian pop star Kylie Minogue called "If You Were with Me Now". This song became a hit, reaching number 4 in the UK and number 23 in Australia.
His second album, You Make It Easy, came out in 1993. Five years later, in 1998, he released his third album, KW.
Acting Roles and Radio Show
Besides singing, Keith Washington has also acted. He appeared as himself on the TV show Martin. In one episode, he sang a duet with Tisha Campbell-Martin called "The Closer I Get to You". This song was originally made famous by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway.
Keith also had a small role in the TV soap opera General Hospital as a character named Keith Jasper. He also appeared in the movie Poetic Justice alongside Janet Jackson, playing a hairdresser named Dexter.
In June 2009, Keith Washington married Stephanie Grimes. She works as a sales manager for a radio station in Detroit. Keith has also started working in radio himself. He hosts a nighttime "Slow Jams" show called "Kisses After Dark" on Detroit's WDMK-FM 105.9 (Kiss-FM) radio station.
