Lady Gabriella Marina Alexandra Ophelia Kingston (born Windsor on 23 April 1981) is a British writer and editor. She is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent and Princess Michael of Kent. She is currently 56th in the line of succession to the British throne. When she was born, she was 18th in line. She is also a second cousin of King Charles III, as she is a great-grandchild of King George V and Queen Mary.

Early Life and Education

Lady Gabriella was born on 23 April 1981 in St Mary's Hospital, London. She has an older brother named Frederick, who was born in 1979. She was baptized on 8 June 1981 at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace, London. Her godparents, who are like special guardians, included Constantine II of Greece.

She went to Godstowe School and Downe House School in Berkshire. In May 2004, Lady Gabriella graduated from Brown University in the United States. She earned a degree in Comparative Literature and Hispanic studies, which means she studied different types of literature and Spanish language and culture. In 2012, she earned a master's degree in Social Anthropology from Linacre College, Oxford. This degree focuses on studying human societies and cultures.

Career and Work

Lady Gabriella works as a writer and helps edit articles for different publications. She writes for The London Magazine and other places.

She is also a director for the Playing for Change Foundation. This is a global charity that helps teach music and arts. She has worked with companies in Latin America. She taught English in Rio de Janeiro and helped organize music events in Buenos Aires. She also did a research project in Colombia. She worked for a company called Branding Latin America, where she helped with arts and travel projects.

In 2020, Lady Gabriella released two songs, "Out of Blue" and "Bam Bam." She wrote and sang these songs to raise money for charity. She also sang other songs like "Put the Sea," "Half," and "This Morning."

Personal Life

For three years in the early 2000s, Lady Gabriella dated a journalist named Aatish Taseer. They met when she was at Brown University.

Buckingham Palace announced Lady Gabriella's engagement to Thomas Henry Robin Kingston on 19 September 2018. Thomas Kingston was born on 22 June 1978 and sadly passed away on 25 February 2024. He worked for the Foreign Office and was stationed in Baghdad from 2003 to 2006. There, he managed projects for an international center. When he returned to Britain, he worked in finance. He held positions as an equity analyst and a director for different companies.

Thomas and Lady Gabriella became engaged on the Isle of Sark in August 2018. Their wedding took place at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, on 18 May 2019. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh attended the wedding.
