Lalden is a small town, also called a municipality, located in Switzerland. It's found in the Visp district, within the beautiful Valais canton.

A Look at Lalden's Past

Lalden has a long history! It was first written about in the year 1218. Back then, it was called Laudona. Later, in 1540, its name changed to Lalden, which is what we call it today.

Where is Lalden Located?

Lalden is a small place, covering about 1.3 square kilometers (0.5 square miles). A big part of its land, about 40.5%, is used for farming. Forests cover 16.7% of the area. About 26.2% of the land has buildings or roads. The rest, 16.7%, is land that can't be used for farming or building.

The town is in the Visp district. It sits on the northern edge of the Rhone valley, close to the town of Visp. Lalden has an old village center, surrounded by newer buildings.
