Eggerberg is a small village and municipality in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. It is part of the Brig district. Besides the main village of Eggerberg, this area includes several smaller settlements. These are called Berg, Eggen, Finnen, Mühlackern, and Wirmschland.

History of Eggerberg
Eggerberg is quite an old place. It was first written about in the year 1307. Back then, it was known by the name Eccun.

Eggerberg covers an area of about 6 square kilometers (or about 2.3 square miles). A big part of this land, more than half, is covered by forests. About 15% of the land is used for farming. Around 5.5% has buildings or roads, and the rest is unproductive land.

The municipality is located on the slopes above the northern Rhone valley. It is quite close to the town of Visp. Eggerberg includes the main village and several smaller hamlets. These hamlets are Mühlackern, Wirmschland, Berg, and Eggen. Finnen is another settlement, but people only live there during the summer.

There was a plan to combine Eggerberg with some nearby municipalities. These included Ausserberg, Bürchen, Baltschieder, Visp, and Visperterminen. However, the people living in these areas decided not to merge.
