The Lamborghini Jalpa is a cool sports car. The famous Italian company Lamborghini made this car from 1981 to 1988. The Jalpa was designed by a company called Carrozzeria Bertone. It was built after another Lamborghini car, the Silhouette.

History of the Jalpa
The Lamborghini Jalpa was first shown to the public in 1981. This happened at a big car show called the Geneva Auto Show. The Jalpa was made using ideas from an older car, the Silhouette. Lamborghini wanted the Jalpa to be a bit more affordable. It was less expensive than their very famous car, the Countach.
Engine and Power
The Jalpa had a powerful engine. It used a 3.5-liter V8 engine. This engine was similar to the one used in the Silhouette. The V8 engine gave the Jalpa about 255 horsepower. This is how much power the engine could make.
How Fast Could It Go?
Lamborghini said that the Jalpa could go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in just 6.0 seconds. It could reach 160 kilometers per hour (100 miles per hour) in 19.1 seconds. The fastest speed the Jalpa could reach was 249 kilometers per hour (155 miles per hour). The car weighed about 1,510 kilograms (3,329 pounds).
