How He Started

What Inspires His Designs?

His designs also show influences from art styles like Cubism. He looks at Bauhaus design too. Even old movies from the 1930s, especially their strong female characters, give him ideas.

Lie Sang Bong has worked with many big companies. In 2006, he teamed up with LG. He designed a special LG Shine Phone. It featured beautiful Korean calligraphy, called Hangeul.
The next year, he worked with KT&G. This is a Korean company. He designed a limited edition tobacco case called ‘Esse’. It also had Hangeul designs. Samsung also showed a special Lie Sang-bong PC.
In 2010, he designed the costume for Kim Yuna. She is a world champion in figure skating. She wore his design for a show called ‘Festa on Ice 2010’.
TV Appearances
Lie Sang Bong became even more popular in 2006. He appeared on a famous Korean TV show called Muhandojeon. The show means "unlimited challenge." On the program, he designed clothes for six entertainers. They even got to be in his fashion show! After this, many people started calling him the "Hangeul designer." This is because the whole show focused on showing the beauty of Hangeul.
