Tavares Lamont Taylor (born January 6, 1993), known professionally as Lil Reese, is an American rapper. He comes from the Chicago music scene. He is well known for being featured on Chief Keef's song "I Don't Like" in 2012. This song became very popular, reaching number 73 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His first music collection, called Don't Like, came out in 2012. After that, he released three more music collections, including a project with Lil Durk called Supa Vultures.

Early Life

Taylor grew up in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. He was part of a large family. During his childhood, he lived in a big apartment building. He became good friends with Lil Durk when he was young.

Music Career

Taylor became more widely known after he was featured on Chief Keef's popular song "I Don't Like". This song gained a lot of attention around the world. He then started to become popular through his own music videos, including "Us".

A music producer named No I.D. noticed Taylor's talent. No I.D. had worked with famous artists like Common and Kanye West. This led Taylor to sign a record deal with Def Jam.

In November 2012, Lil Reese released a new version of his song "Us". This version featured famous rappers Rick Ross and Drake. It later appeared on Rick Ross's music collection called The Black Bar Mitzvah. Taylor also made many songs with new music producers, such as Young Chop. He was also featured on Juelz Santana's song "Bodies".

In January 2013, Taylor released a new version of his song "Traffic". This version featured Young Jeezy and Twista. On September 2, 2013, Taylor released his second solo music collection, Supa Savage. This collection included guest appearances from Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Fredo Santana, Wale, and Waka Flocka Flame.

Personal Life

2019 Incident

On November 11, 2019, Taylor was injured in an incident in Markham, Illinois. Police responded to the scene. Witnesses told police that Taylor was involved in a chase with another car. They heard several gunshots during the chase. The driver of the other vehicle then left their car and shot Taylor before leaving the area.

On November 18, Taylor shared that he had left the hospital. He let people know that he was "Alive and Well" after the incident. The day after leaving the hospital, he released a new song called "Come Outside".

2021 Incident

On May 15, 2021, Taylor and two other men were injured in an incident at a parking garage in Chicago. They were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Taylor's eye was grazed by a projectile. He and another man were later in fair condition. The third person was in serious condition. Reports suggested the incident was related to a vehicle.

Religion

In 2025, Taylor shared on social media that he had converted to Islam. He announced that he took the shahada, which is a declaration of faith in Islam.
