List of prime ministers of Charles III facts for kids

Charles III is the King and head of state for 15 countries known as Commonwealth realms. These countries are part of the Commonwealth of Nations, a group of countries that were once part of the British Empire. In each of these realms, the King works with a leader called a prime minister.
The King or his governors-general (who represent him in each country) have special powers to choose or remove prime ministers. Since becoming King, Charles has appointed six new prime ministers. The first was Rishi Sunak for the United Kingdom in October 2022, and the most recent is Sir Keir Starmer in July 2024.
This list only includes prime ministers from countries where King Charles III is the head of state. It does not include leaders from other Commonwealth nations or leaders of smaller regions within countries.
