LucasArts Entertainment Company, LLC is an American company that publishes and licenses video games. For many years, until 2013, it also created video games. LucasArts is famous for making games based on popular movies, especially the Star Wars series.
The Story of LucasArts
LucasArts started in May 1982. It was first the video game part of Lucasfilm Limited. Lucasfilm is the movie company created by George Lucas, who also created Star Wars.
Joining the Disney Family
On October 30, 2012, a big change happened. The Walt Disney Company bought Lucasfilm, which meant LucasArts also became part of Disney. This deal cost Disney about $4.05 billion. After this, LucasArts stopped making new games itself and focused on licensing its games to other companies.
