Lyndonville is a small village located in Orleans County, New York, United States. In 2010, about 838 people lived there. The village got its name because some of the first people to settle here came from a place called Lyndon, Vermont. Lyndonville is also part of the larger Rochester area.
The village of Lyndonville is found within the area of the Town of Yates.

History of Lyndonville
The first settlers in the area moved from Yates Center. They came to use the power of Johnson's Creek, which could turn water wheels for mills. One important early settler was Jackson Blood. His unique cobblestone house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. This means it's a special building protected for its history.
The Village of Lyndonville officially became its own separate village in 1903. Before that, it was just a part of the Town of Yates.
Geography of Lyndonville
Lyndonville is located at about 43 degrees north and 78 degrees west. This is its exact spot on a map.
The village covers an area of about 1.0 square mile (2.6 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
Lyndonville is on a main road called New York State Route 63. This road is also known as North and South Main Street. The village is south of where Route 63 crosses New York State Route 18. It is also about four miles south of Lake Ontario, a very large lake.
Johnson's Creek, a local waterway, flows right through the village.

Famous People from Lyndonville
Lyndonville is the birthplace or home of some notable people.
- Technical Sergeant Forrest L. Vosler (1923–1992) was born here. He was given the Medal of Honor for his brave actions during World War II.
- Staff Sergeant David Bellavia grew up in Lyndonville. He was the first living person from the Iraq war to receive the Medal of Honor.
