Brandon Michael Green (born July 23, 1988), known as Maejor, is an American music producer, songwriter, and singer. He was also known as Bei Maejor and Maejor Ali. Maejor is famous for creating and writing songs for many big music stars. One of the most notable is Canadian singer Justin Bieber.

Maejor is also one half of the EDM group Area21. He started this group with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix in 2016.

As an R&B artist, Maejor first signed with Jive Records. He released two songs: "Trouble" (with J. Cole) in 2011, and "Lights Down Low" (with Waka Flocka Flame) in 2012. These songs had some success on the R&B charts.

Later, he joined Def Jam Recordings. In 2013, he released the song "Lolly" with Juicy J and Justin Bieber. This song became very popular, reaching number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2018, he signed with Virgin EMI Records. He started making more EDM and world music. Maejor said his 2020 album, Vol. 1: Frequencies, contained "healing frequencies."

Besides making music for artists, Maejor has also worked on big campaigns for companies like Pepsi. He also created music for the Boston Celtics basketball team. His music has been featured in movies like Bratz: The Movie (2007) and The Princess and the Frog (2009). He also contributed to video games like NBA 2K and FIFA. Maejor has even been nominated for a Grammy Award.

Maejor's Early Life and Career

Maejor, whose birth name is Brandon Green, was born on July 23, 1988. He studied at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He graduated from the university in 2008.

Right after graduating, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There, he joined a music production team called Compound Entertainment, led by artist Ne-Yo. Maejor released his first collection of songs, called a mixtape, titled Upside Down. This mixtape featured famous artists like Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, Drake, and T-Pain. He also helped with the official remix of Ciara's song "Ride".

Music Achievements and Collaborations

Maejor earned his first "gold plaque" in 2005. This was for his work on Bun B's album Trill, while he was still in college. In 2010, Maejor was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on Trey Songz's album Passion, Pain & Pleasure. He received another Grammy nomination in 2011 for Monica's album Still Standing.

In 2012, Maejor produced two songs for Justin Bieber's album Believe. He also produced the song "Say Somethin" for Austin Mahone. Maejor's song "Lights Down Low" was used as the official music for the NBA Playoffs for the Boston Celtics. He also produced commercials for Pepsi in 2010 and 2013.

Maejor worked with Justin Bieber again in 2013, helping to produce his song "Heartbreaker". In the same year, Maejor released his own song "Lolly". This song featured Justin Bieber and Juicy J. "Lolly" became a big hit, reaching number 19 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He continued to produce and write for top artists. This included three songs and Grammy nominations on Bieber's number-one album Purpose.

In 2017, Maejor helped write and perform in the song "Vai Malandra". This song was released worldwide on December 18, 2017. "Vai Malandra" was played over 1 million times on Spotify on its first day. It broke the record for the most streams in a day in Brazil. The previous record was held by Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do". On its second day, the song was played over 2 million times. It became the most streamed song in a day in Brazil. Because of its many streams, the song appeared on Spotify's Global Top 50 chart. It was the first Portuguese song to reach the Top 20 on that chart by December 20, 2017.

In March 2025, Maejor released a new song called "In Your Eyes." It featured collaborations with artists ItsOrso and JK. This song continues his work exploring how music can help people feel better.
