Brandon Michael Green (born July 23, 1988), known professionally as Maejor, is an American music artist. He is a talented record producer, songwriter, and singer. Maejor is famous for creating songs for many well-known artists, especially Justin Bieber. He is also part of an electronic dance music (EDM) duo called Area21 with DJ Martin Garrix. They formed Area21 in 2016.

As an R&B recording artist, Maejor first signed with Jive Records. He released two singles: "Trouble" in 2011 and "Lights Down Low" in 2012. These songs had some success on the R&B charts. Later, he joined Def Jam Recordings. There, his 2013 song "Lolly" became very popular. It reached number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Maejor has also created music for big companies like Pepsi and the Boston Celtics. His music has been featured in movies like Bratz: The Movie (2007) and The Princess and the Frog (2009). He has also contributed to video games such as NBA 2K and FIFA. Maejor has even been nominated for a Grammy Award, which is a very important music award.

Maejor's Early Life and Career

Brandon Green was born on July 23, 1988. He went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and graduated in 2008. After college, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There, he joined a music production team called Compound Entertainment.

Maejor released his first collection of songs, called a mixtape, named Upside Down. This mixtape featured other popular artists like Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, Drake, and T-Pain. He also helped with the official remix of Ciara's song "Ride".

Awards and Collaborations

Maejor received his first gold record award in 2005. This was for his work on Bun B's album Trill, while he was still in college. He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2010 for his work on Trey Songz's album Passion, Pain & Pleasure. He received another Grammy nomination in 2011 for Monica's album Still Standing.

In 2012, Maejor produced two songs for Justin Bieber's album Believe. He also produced the song "Say Somethin" for Austin Mahone. Maejor's song "Lights Down Low" was used as the official soundtrack for the Boston Celtics in the NBA Playoffs. He also produced commercials for Pepsi in 2010 and 2013.

Hit Songs and Continued Success

Maejor worked with Justin Bieber again in 2013, helping to produce his song "Heartbreaker". In the same year, Maejor released his own single called "Lolly". This song featured Justin Bieber and Juicy J. "Lolly" became a big hit, reaching number 19 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He continues to produce and write for many top artists. He contributed to three songs on Justin Bieber's number-one album Purpose, which also earned him Grammy nominations.

In 2017, Maejor helped write and perform in the song "Vai Malandra". This song was released worldwide on December 18, 2017. "Vai Malandra" was very popular, getting over 1 million plays on Spotify on its first day. It broke the record for the most streams in a day in Brazil. On its second day, it had over 2 million plays, breaking the record again. The song even made it into the Global Top 50 chart on Spotify. It was the first song in Portuguese to reach the Top 20 on that chart.
