Mark Alan Webber was born on August 27, 1976, in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Australia. He is a famous Australian Formula One driver. Formula One is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars.
At the 2009 German Grand Prix, Mark Webber made history. He became the first Australian driver to win a Formula One race since Alan Jones did it way back in 1981. He drove for the Red Bull Racing team during his successful career.

Mark Webber's Racing Journey
Starting Out in Racing
Mark Webber began his racing career in Australia. He started in a series called Australian Formula Ford in 1994. He quickly showed his talent, finishing fourth in the championship in 1995. That same year, he also raced in Australian Formula Holden.
In 1996, Mark moved to Europe to compete in Formula Ford races there. He won the Formula Ford Festival, which is a big event for young drivers. This victory helped him get noticed by bigger racing teams.
Moving Up the Ranks
After Formula Ford, Mark raced in British Formula Three in 1997. He won one race and finished fourth in the championship. He also competed in the famous Macau Grand Prix and the Masters of Formula Three, showing he could race against the best young drivers.
In 1998, Mark tried a different type of racing: sports cars. He joined the FIA GT Championship with AMG Mercedes. He won five races and finished third in the championship. He even raced in the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours race.

Joining Formula One
