Matthew Nable (born on March 8, 1972) is an Australian actor, writer, and sports commentator. He was also a professional rugby league player. During the 1990s, he played for the Manly-Warringah and South Sydney teams. Later, he wrote and starred in the rugby league movie The Final Winter in 2007. Matt Nable has appeared in many films like Killer Elite and Riddick. He also played Ra's al Ghul in the TV shows Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.

Early Life and Family

Matt Nable grew up in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney, Australia. When he was a young boy, he lived for two years in Portsea, Victoria. This was because his father, Dave, who was a soldier, was stationed there. He also spent some of his childhood in Albury.

Family Connections to Rugby

Matt's father, Dave, worked as a trainer for the Australian national rugby league team. This shows that rugby was a big part of his family's life. Matt's brother, Adam Nable, also became a professional rugby league player.

Rugby League Career

Matt Nable started his rugby league journey in the junior teams of the Manly-Warringah club. He played five games for the senior team in 1991 and 1992. After that, he did not play in the main league again until 1995. In 1995, he played three games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Playing in England

After his time in Australia, Matt Nable played a season in England. He played for Carlisle and then for the London Broncos. After this, he decided to stop playing professional football.

Life After Rugby

After leaving rugby, Matt Nable tried boxing as an amateur. He even fought for the state light-heavyweight title. He then worked as a beer salesman and a personal trainer. Eventually, he decided to focus on becoming a writer.

This script was based on a book he had written but not yet published. With the help of friends, he raised $1.6 million to make the film. The movie was released in 2007. It received good reviews from critics but did not make much money at the box office.

Early Acting Roles

In 2008, Matt Nable acted in the TV movie S.I.S., playing a detective in Los Angeles. He continued to develop his writing career as well.

In 2009, his book We Don't Live Here Anymore was published. In 2011, he released his second book, Faces in the Clouds, which was also praised by critics.

TV Writing and Acting

In March 2014, it was announced that Nable would be in the miniseries Gallipoli.

Playing Ra's al Ghul
