Mettembert is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Delémont district. It's part of the Jura canton in Switzerland.

Mettembert was first mentioned in old records in 1170. Back then, it was called Mettenbere. A few years later, in 1208, its name appeared as Mettenberg. The town used to be known by its German name, Mittemberg, but this name is no longer used today. Until 1984, its official name was Mettemberg.
