Junior Hockey in North America
Frolík started his North American hockey journey in the 2006–07 season. He played for the Rimouski Océanic in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). This league is for talented young players who hope to play professionally.

Professional Career
Starting with the Florida Panthers
Before joining the NHL, Frolík played for HC Rabat Kladno in the Czech Extraliga for two seasons. The Florida Panthers then picked him as the tenth overall player in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first NHL game for Florida in the 2008–09 season. In that season, he scored 21 goals and made 24 assists, totaling 45 points in 79 games. The next season, Frolík scored 43 points.
Winning the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks
On February 9, 2011, Frolík was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. This happened during his third season with the Panthers. He scored his first goal as a Blackhawk on March 2, 2011, against the Calgary Flames. The Blackhawks won that game 6–4.
He played his first Stanley Cup playoff game on April 13 against the Vancouver Canucks. On April 19, he scored his first playoff goal. A few days later, on April 24, he made history by scoring the first ever Stanley Cup playoff penalty shot goal for the Blackhawks.

On July 15, 2011, Frolík signed a new three-year contract with the Blackhawks. During the 2012–13 NHL lockout, when NHL games were paused, Frolík played for Piráti Chomutov in the Czech Extraliga. He returned to the Blackhawks for the shorter 2012–13 season. On May 27, 2013, during the 2013 playoffs, he scored his second playoff penalty shot goal. This made him the first player in NHL history to score more than one playoff penalty shot goal. He helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup that year against the Boston Bruins. He had 10 points in 23 playoff games.
Time with the Winnipeg Jets
After winning the Stanley Cup, Frolík was traded to the Winnipeg Jets on June 30, 2013. In his first game with the Jets on October 2, 2013, he scored two goals.
On July 29, 2014, Frolík signed a one-year contract with the Jets. He finished the regular season with 19 goals and 23 assists. However, the Jets lost in the playoffs that year.
