Michael Jeter (August 26, 1952 – March 30, 2003) was an American actor and comedian. He was known for playing many different characters on stage and in movies. Michael Jeter won a Tony Award for his work in theater and a Primetime Emmy Award for his television roles. He was a popular actor who brought many memorable characters to life.
He was especially known for his role as Herman Stiles on the TV show Evening Shade from 1990 to 1994. He also appeared in famous movies like The Green Mile and Jurassic Park III. Many kids might remember him as Mister Noodle's brother, Mister Noodle, on Sesame Street's Elmo's World.

Early Life and Education
Michael Jeter was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, on August 26, 1952. His mother, Virginia, was a housewife, and his father, William, was a dentist. Michael had one brother and four sisters.
He first studied at Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis). While there, his interests changed from medicine to acting. He started performing in plays and musicals at local theaters in Memphis. Later, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, to continue his acting career on stage.
Acting Career
Michael Jeter was known for playing unique and interesting characters. He often played roles that were a bit quirky or shy. Some of his famous movie roles include The Fisher King (1991), Air Bud (1997), Mouse Hunt (1997), Patch Adams (1998), and The Green Mile (1999).
In The Green Mile, he played Eduard Delacroix, a role that earned him a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award with the rest of the cast. He also appeared in Jurassic Park III (2001) and Open Range (2003).
One of his most beloved roles for younger audiences was Mister Noodle's brother, Mister Noodle, on Sesame Street from 2000 to 2003. He also appeared in an episode of Touched by an Angel in 1999.
His last two films, Open Range and The Polar Express, were released after his death. Both movies included a special dedication to his memory. The TV show Sesame Street also dedicated a special episode to him.
Stage Performances
Michael Jeter had a successful career in theater. He made his first appearance on Broadway in the musical Once in a Lifetime in 1979. He later performed in G. R. Point.
He won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role as Otto Kringelein in the musical Grand Hotel in 1989. He also played Giuseppe Zangara in the musical Assassins in 1989.
Later Life and Passing
Michael Jeter passed away on March 30, 2003, at his home in Hollywood Hills, California. He was 50 years old. He died from complications after an epileptic seizure. Michael Jeter was cremated.
