Miguel grew up in a home filled with art and culture. Many famous artists and writers were close friends of his family. For example, the painter Pablo Picasso and the writer Ernest Hemingway were family friends. The film director Luchino Visconti was his godfather. Pablo Picasso was also the godfather to his sister, Paola Dominguín.
Miguel Bosé's Career Journey
Miguel Bosé started his career as an actor in 1971. He appeared in several movies. People quickly noticed his talent and good looks. He studied acting, dancing, and singing to improve his skills.
When acting roles were hard to find, he began exploring singing in 1975. With help from singer Camilo Sesto, he recorded his first songs. In 1977, Bosé signed with CBS Records. He stayed with them until 1984. His first album, Linda, came out and included his first hit song, also called "Linda."
Between 1977 and 1982, Miguel Bosé was a huge teen idol. He was very popular in Italy, Spain, Southern Europe, and all of Latin America. He had seven songs that reached the top ten. This made him a regular star at televised music festivals in these countries.
Changing His Style
In 1984, Miguel Bosé changed his musical style. He started making music for an older audience. That year, he released his album Bandido. This album showed his growth as an artist. It included popular songs like "Sevilla" and "Amante bandido." "Amante bandido" became a number one hit in Spain and Latin America. Its music video was also very popular. In the video, Bosé played both a Superman-like hero and an Indiana Jones-style adventurer.
In Italy, where he also sang in Italian and English, he won the Festivalbar three times. This is a big music event, second only to the Sanremo Music Festival.
Papito: A Celebration of Music

Three songs from Papito were released as singles. The first was a new version of his hit "Nena," featuring Mexican singer Paulina Rubio. The second was "Morena Mía," with Julieta Venegas. The third single, "Como un lobo," featured his niece, Bimba Bosé. "Nena" was the most successful song from the album. It was nominated for a Latin Grammy and was the best-selling download in Spain in 2007. In the same year, Bosé received the Billboard Latin Music Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2008, the President of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe, offered Miguel Bosé Colombian citizenship. This was because of his efforts to help bring peace to Colombia. He took part in two concerts for peace in 2008. On 16 March 2010, he officially became a Colombian citizen.
