Mikaela "Mikey" Madison Rosberg (born March 25, 1999) is an American actress. She started her acting journey in short films. She became well-known for her role as a quiet teenager in the TV show Better Things (2016–2022).
Mikey Madison also played Susan Atkins in Quentin Tarantino's movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019). Later, she appeared as Amber Freeman in the horror film Scream (2022).
Her big role was playing the main character in Sean Baker's film Anora (2024). For this role, Madison won several important awards. These included an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award. She is the first person from Generation Z to win an acting Oscar.

Mikaela Madison Rosberg was born on March 25, 1999. Her birthplace was Los Angeles, California. She is the fourth of five children. Her parents, Michael Rosberg and Tracy, are both psychologists.
Mikey has two brothers, including a twin, and two older sisters. She lived in Santa Clarita for a few years. Then, her family moved to the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley.
Madison first trained as a competitive horseback rider. At age 14, she decided to switch to acting. She was homeschooled after the seventh grade. Mikey Madison is Jewish, but her family was not very religious. She enjoyed watching movies by famous directors like Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese.

Mikey Madison started acting in 2013. She appeared in short films like Retirement. In 2014, she filmed her first full-length movie, Liza, Liza, Skies Are Grey. This movie was released in 2017.
Becoming Known in Television
In 2016, Madison got a main role in the TV series Better Things. She played Max Fox, a moody teenager. This show was on the FX channel until 2022. From 2017 to 2018, she also appeared in the TV show Imposters. In 2018, she acted in the movies Monster and Nostalgia.

Filmmaker Sean Baker chose Madison for his movie Anora. She played the main character, a young woman named Anora. Baker cast her without an audition after seeing her in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Scream. He even wrote the character specifically for her.
For the role, she learned some Russian. She also did her own stunts, including fight scenes. She lived in Brighton Beach for a while to prepare. The film premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and won the top prize, the Palme d'Or.
Anora was a huge success, and Madison's acting was highly praised. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe and a SAG Award.

Madison lives in her hometown of Los Angeles. She follows a vegan diet. She does not use social media. In an interview in November 2024, she said it doesn't feel "real or natural" to her. She also mentioned that she is a "very sensitive person." She believes people should not read what others say about them. She avoids that part of the internet for her mental health.
Madison describes herself as not religious, but she feels she is a "very spiritual person."
