Misery-Courtion is a municipality (like a town or local government area) in Switzerland. It is located in the See district of the Fribourg canton. This municipality was created on January 1, 1997. It was formed when four villages joined together: Misery, Courtion, Cormérod, and Cournillens.

Geography of Misery-Courtion
Misery-Courtion covers an area of about 11.42 square kilometers (4.41 square miles). A large part of this land, about 75.4%, is used for farming. This means there are many fields for crops and pastures for animals.
About 17.4% of the area is covered by forests. These are mostly dense, thick forests. The remaining 7.2% of the land is developed. This includes buildings like homes and businesses, as well as roads for transportation. A very small part, about 0.3%, is made up of rivers or lakes.

The coat of arms for Misery-Courtion has a special design. It is split into two colors: gold (yellow) on one side and red on the other. On top of these colors, there is a green four-leaf clover.
This clover is very important because it represents the four villages that came together to form the municipality. These villages are Cormerod, Cournillens, Courtion, and Misery.
People and Population
Misery-Courtion has a population of about 1,452 people (as of 2022). Over the last ten years (from 2000 to 2010), the number of people living here grew by 17.5%. Most of this growth was because new people moved into the area.
Most people in Misery-Courtion speak French as their main language, about 86.4%. The second most common language is German, spoken by about 9.3% of the population. A smaller number of people also speak Portuguese.
In 2008, the population was almost evenly split between males (52.6%) and females (47.4%). Many people living in Misery-Courtion were also born there, about 38.1%. Others were born in the same canton (Fribourg) or elsewhere in Switzerland. About 9.5% of the residents were born outside of Switzerland.
Young people, from babies to teenagers (0–19 years old), make up a big part of the population, about 27.5%. Adults (20–64 years old) make up 58.9%, and seniors (over 64 years old) are 13.6%.
