Modesto Marini is a famous Italian chef and businessman. He was born in Lake Garda, Italy. He started The Marini's Group, which owns popular restaurants and cafes in Malaysia. These include Marini's on 57, a high-up restaurant and bar; Marble 8, a steakhouse; and M Marini Caffè, a special cafe.
He received a special award from the Italian government called the Order of the Star of Italy in October 2016. This award gave him the title "Cavaliere," which is one of the highest honors for civilians in Italy.

Modesto Marini's Journey to Success
Modesto Marini began cooking when he was a teenager. He finished his professional cooking training and then worked as a sous chef. A sous chef is the second-in-command in a kitchen. He worked at a famous restaurant called Cecconi's in London, England. Many important people, including royalty and celebrities, visited this restaurant.
When he was 21, Marini moved to Singapore. There, he continued working as a sous chef at a restaurant called Da Paolo.
Opening Restaurants in Malaysia
In 1995, Modesto Marini moved to Malaysia and decided to stay there. He opened a very successful chain of Italian restaurants called Modesto's. By 2008, his chain had nine restaurants.
His restaurants were popular places for big events. In 2000, they hosted a special party for Ferrari. They also welcomed famous sports stars like Formula 1 drivers Jarno Trulli and MotoGP riders Valentino Rossi and Loris Capirossi. Jarno Trulli even launched his own wines at one of Marini's restaurants. Later, Modesto Marini sold his shares in the Modesto's chain, which also had restaurants in Singapore and Indonesia.
The Marini's Group: High-Up Dining
In 2012, Modesto Marini opened Marini's on 57. This restaurant, bar, and lounge is the highest rooftop spot in Malaysia. It is located in Menara 3 Petronas in Kuala Lumpur.
Two years later, in 2014, he opened two more places. One was M Marini Caffè, Malaysia's first cafe dedicated to champagne and caviar. It is located in Suria KLCC. The other was Marble 8, a fancy steakhouse in Kuala Lumpur. Marble 8 is special because it prepares its own dry-aged steaks.
Famous Visitors at Marini's on 57
Marini's on 57 has welcomed many important guests. These include royalty like the Crown Prince of Denmark, His Royal Highness Frederik. Many celebrities have also visited, such as fashion designer Anna Fendi, golfer Tiger Woods, singer Bon Jovi, and football star Eric Cantona.
Formula One drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have been guests. Other sports stars like LPGA golfers Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie, and tennis player Caroline Wozniacki have also visited. Famous people from TV shows, like Whitney Miller from Masterchef and Rick Harrison and Corey Harrison from Pawn Stars, have also stopped by. The restaurant was also the place for the after-party of the 2014 Laureus World Sports Awards.
Annual F1 Party Paddock
Since 2014, Marini's on 57 has hosted an annual party during the Formula 1 race weekend in Kuala Lumpur. This event is called the F1 Party Paddock at the Top. Famous DJs from around the world have performed there. These include Danny Rampling in 2014, Joey Negro in 2015, and Simon Dunmore in 2016.
Sunset Hours Music Albums
In 2014, Modesto Marini worked with a famous DJ named José Padilla. They created a music album called Sunset Hours Volume One. This album celebrated the second anniversary of the bar at Marini's on 57. It was launched in Ibiza, Spain, on June 20, 2014.
More albums followed in the "Sunset Hours" series. Sunset Hours Vol.2 was put together by DJs Chris Coco and Afterlife. It was launched in Ibiza on August 9, 2015. Sunset Hours Vol.3 was compiled by Simon Mills and launched in Ibiza on July 20, 2016. These albums feature relaxing, chill-out music.

Awards and Recognition
Modesto Marini has received several important awards. In 2003, he received the Superbrands award. In 2013, he was named the "Icon of the Year" by the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards.
Marini's on 57 also won the Signum Virtutis (Seal of Excellence) from the Seven Stars Global Luxury Awards in 2014. This award was given to Modesto Marini by Prince della Torre e Tasso. Marini's on 57 also won the World Branding Award in the Restaurant category for three years in a row, from 2014 to 2016.
