Monnaz was a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It was part of the canton of Vaud, located in the Morges district.

On July 1, 2011, Monnaz joined with two other towns, Colombier and Saint-Saphorin-sur-Morges, to form a larger municipality called Echichens.

History of Monnaz

Monnaz was first mentioned in old records way back in 1200. Back then, it was known as Monna. A little later, in 1221, its name changed slightly to Muna.

Monnaz covered an area of about 1.6 square kilometers (or 0.6 square miles) in 2009.
