Montaubion-Chardonney was a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Vaud area, which is known as a canton.
On July 1, 2011, Montaubion-Chardonney joined with four other towns. These towns were Villars-Tiercelin, Sottens, Villars-Mendraz, and Peney-le-Jorat. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Jorat-Menthue.

History of Montaubion-Chardonney
Montaubion-Chardonney is a very old place. It was first written about in the year 1200. Back then, it was called in Monte Albeonis.
Later, in 1223, the name Montaubion was mentioned as Montalbium. The name Chardonney was also recorded in 1223 as Chardenai.
Geography and Land Use
Montaubion-Chardonney covered an area of about 2.1 square kilometers (which is about 0.8 square miles). This information is from 2009.
Most of the land, about 62.6%, was used for farming. Forests covered about 30.8% of the area. The remaining 5.7% of the land had buildings or roads on it.
The town was located in the middle of the Jorat region. It had two smaller settlements, called hamlets. These hamlets were on the right side of the Mentue river.
