Mountain Weather
Mount Davidson is in a marine west coast climate zone. This means it gets a lot of rain and snow.
Most weather systems come from the Pacific Ocean. As they move east, they hit the Coast Mountains. The mountains force the air upwards, which makes the moisture fall as rain or snow. This is why the Coast Mountains get so much precipitation, especially heavy snowfall in winter.
Winter temperatures on Mount Davidson can drop very low, sometimes below −20 °C. With the wind, it can feel even colder, below −30 °C. The best time to climb Mount Davidson is usually from July to September, when the weather is most pleasant.
