Mount Pleasant (or Mt. Pleasant) is a small community in Marshall County, Mississippi, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts for population statistics, even though it doesn't have its own local government like a city.
Mount Pleasant is located along U.S. Highway 72 and State Highway 311. The community has a volunteer fire department and a school that teaches students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Mount Pleasant is in the northern part of Marshall County, Mississippi. It is less than 3 miles south of the Tennessee state border.
Roads and Travel
U.S. Highway 72 is a four-lane road that goes through the north side of Mount Pleasant. If you travel east on Highway 72, you can reach Corinth, which is about 57 miles away. If you go northwest, you'll get to Collierville, Tennessee, in about 11 miles, and Memphis in about 34 miles.
Mississippi Highway 311 goes south from Mount Pleasant. It leads to Holly Springs, which is about 14 miles away. Holly Springs is the main town and county seat for Marshall County.
