Mount Warren is a tall mountain in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It stands at 3,362 meters (11,030 feet) high. You can find it at the southeast end of Maligne Lake. This mountain is often seen in beautiful pictures of Spirit Island and Maligne Lake. It rises very steeply from the lake, making it look quite dramatic.
Mount Warren is near the Brazeau Icefield. Its closest taller neighbor is Mount Brazeau, about 2.26 kilometers (1.4 miles) away. A smaller peak called Monkhead is also nearby, to the northwest of Mount Warren's main summit.

History of Mount Warren
How Mount Warren Got Its Name
Mount Warren was named in 1908 by Mary Schäffer Warren. She was an explorer and writer. Mary named the mountain after her good friend and mountain guide, William "Billy" Warren. Billy later became her second husband in 1915.
Mary Schäffer Warren was famous for "discovering" Maligne Lake. She also named many other mountains around the lake. These include Mount Charlton, Mount Unwin, and Maligne Mountain. The name "Mount Warren" was officially recognized in 1946 by the Geographical Names Board of Canada.
First Climbers to Reach the Top
The first ascent (first time someone successfully climbed to the top) of Mount Warren happened in 1928. The climbers were W.R. Hainsworth and M.M. Strumia.

Weather Conditions in Jasper National Park
Mount Warren is located in a subarctic climate zone. This means it has very cold and snowy winters. The summers are usually mild. Temperatures can drop below -20°C (-4°F). With wind chill, it can feel even colder, sometimes below -30°C (-22°F).
Water from Mount Warren flows into the Maligne River. This river then joins the Athabasca River. The best time to visit or climb Mount Warren is from July through September. The weather during these months is usually the most pleasant.
