While working at a radio station, she was discovered by producer Richard Forbes. Soon, she signed with Polydor Records. There, she met producer Salaam Remi, who helped her develop her musical talent.
In 2002, she released her first album, A Little Deeper. This album included popular songs like "It Takes More" and "Dy-Na-Mi-Tee". The album was also released in the United States in 2003 and was praised by music critics. In 2002, Ms. Dynamite won the famous Mercury Music Prize for A Little Deeper. She generously donated the £20,000 prize money to the NSPCC, a charity that helps children.

She sang "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley with her brother, Akala.
New Music: Judgement Days
On 11 September 2005, Ms. Dynamite released a new album called Judgement Days. She had taken some time off to be with her son, Shavaar. This album featured songs that talked about important social issues. The first single from the album was "Judgement Day"/"Father". Another song, "Mr Prime Minister," shared her thoughts on political leaders. While the album was not as widely praised as her first, "Judgement Day" reached number 25 on the UK Singles Chart.
Later Years and Collaborations
After a break from music, Ms. Dynamite hosted a show on BBC Radio 1Xtra. She planned to release a third album, Democracy, but decided to focus on other projects and being a mother. She appeared on the TV show Goldie's Band: By Royal Appointment on BBC Two, sharing her music knowledge.
Since then, she has worked with many other artists. She was featured on Katy B's song "Lights On" in 2010, which became a top 5 hit in the UK. She also sang on the Magnetic Man track "Fire."
