Nendaz is a beautiful town in Switzerland. It's located in the Valais area, which is a canton (like a state) in the country. It's part of the Conthey district.

A Look Back in Time: History of Nendaz
Nendaz has a long history! The first time it was ever written about was way back in the year 984. Back then, it was called Nenda.
For a while, people also knew it by its German name, Neind. But today, that name isn't used anymore.

Nendaz covers an area of about 85.9 square kilometers (about 33 square miles). A big part of this land, about 27.5%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 31.2% of the area.
About 4.2% of the land has buildings or roads on it. The rest, about 37%, is land that can't be used for farming or building.
Where is Nendaz Located?
Nendaz is in the middle of the Valais region. It stretches from the Rhone river, which is about 490 meters (1,600 feet) high, all the way up to the top of the Rosablanche mountain, which is super tall at 3,336 meters (10,945 feet)!
The town of Nendaz isn't just one big place. It's made up of about 15 smaller villages and hamlets. Some of these include Basse-Nendaz, Haute-Nendaz, Bieudron, Aproz, Baar, Brignon, and Beuson.
