The Nepton River North is a small river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into the Nepton River (Chibougamau Lake). This area is part of the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region in Nord-du-Québec.
The entire river flows through a place called McCorkill Township. You can reach the river's area by a forest road. This road connects to Quebec route 167, a main highway. Route 167 helps people get to places like Chibougamau, Waconichi Lake, and Lake Mistassini.
The river usually freezes over from early November until mid-May. However, it's safest to walk or travel on the ice from mid-November to mid-April.
River's Location and Flow
The Nepton River North starts from an unnamed lake in McCorkill Township. This lake is about 0.8 kilometres (0.50 mi) long and sits at an elevation of 499 metres (1,637 ft). The lake is located northwest of a mountain that is 595 metres (1,952 ft) high.
The river flows for about 6.4 kilometres (4.0 mi), mostly towards the southwest. It ends by joining the Nepton River (Chibougamau Lake).

Where the River Ends
The Nepton River North flows into the Nepton River (Chibougamau Lake). The Nepton River then flows into a narrow bay on the northeast side of Chibougamau Lake. This lake is a major source for the Chibougamau River.
From Chibougamau Lake, the water flows through Lac aux Dorés. Then it goes down the Chibougamau River until it meets the Opawica River. After that, the water flows into the Waswanipi River, which eventually reaches Goéland Lake (Waswanipi River) and Matagami Lake. Finally, the water joins the Nottaway River and empties into Rupert Bay, which is part of James Bay.

River's Name
The name "Nepton River North" was officially recognized on December 5, 1968. This happened when the Commission de toponymie du Québec (Quebec's place name commission) was first created.
