Niederwil was a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Lebern district within the Solothurn area, known as a canton. In 2011, Niederwil joined with another town called Riedholz to become one larger municipality.

Niederwil was first mentioned in old records in the year 1292. Back then, it was known by a different name, Lomolzwile.
Geography of Niederwil
Niederwil covered an area of about 2.28 square kilometers (0.88 square miles). A large part of this land, about 54.4%, was used for farming. Forests covered about 36.4% of the area. The remaining 9.2% was built-up, meaning it had buildings and roads.
The village was nestled in the Lebern district. It sat in a small dip in the land, close to a stream called the Siggern.
Niederwil's Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for Niederwil had a special design. It showed a "Gypsum-pounder" on a blue background. This tool had a crankshaft and three hammers. It was shown over seven white, chalky stones.
