Nima Rinji Sherpa (Nepali: निमा रिन्जी शेर्पा; born in 2006) is a famous Nepalese mountaineer. He is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the youngest person ever to climb all 14 of the world's highest mountains, known as 8,000-meter peaks. Nima achieved this amazing feat at just 18 years, 5 months, and 21 days old. He completed this record-breaking journey in only 740 days. His final summit was on October 9, 2024, when he reached the top of Shishapangma (8,027 meters) in China. This mountain was the last of the fourteen highest peaks in the world for him to conquer.
Nima started his high-altitude climbing career when he was 16. His first 8,000-meter summit was Manaslu on September 30, 2022. This happened shortly after he finished his 10th-grade school exams. Nima's incredible achievement broke the previous record. The earlier record was held by Mingma David Sherpa, who completed all 14 peaks when he was 30 years old.

Early Life and Family of Climbers
Nima was born into a very well-known Sherpa family. His family is famous for being skilled mountaineers. His father, Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, also set a record. He became the youngest person to climb Mount Everest without extra oxygen when he was 19. His father has climbed Everest eight times!
Nima's uncles are Mingma Sherpa and Chhang Dawa Sherpa. They were the first brothers to climb all 14 eight-thousanders. They also climbed the Seven Summits, which are the highest mountains on each continent. Even with such a climbing legacy, Nima knows that mountaineering can be very dangerous. He understands the risks involved in climbing such high mountains.
Nima's Amazing Climbing Journey
Nima began his mountaineering adventures at the age of 16. He quickly became well-known in the climbing world. Over just two years, he successfully reached the tops of many of the world's tallest peaks. These included famous mountains like Everest and K2. He even completed five climbs in less than five weeks!
Nima has a favorite mountain among all his climbs: Annapurna. He completed his climbs alongside his climbing partner, Pasang Nurbu Sherpa. He also received support from climbing companies like Seven Summit Treks and Fourteen Peaks Expedition.
